Not only is there a need for more ben-
efts options, the Afac WorkForces Re-
port also found signifcant differences
in the mindsets and attitudes of work-
erswho are offered voluntary insurance
benefts options, compared to thosewho
work for a company that does not offer
such benefts options. Employees who
are enrolled in or offered voluntary in-
suranceplansat theircompanyaremore
likely to say they are satisfed with their
benefts package, it meets their needs
and it is more competitive than their
peers’ benefts. A higher percentage of
these employees express more positive
feelings about their benefts and level
of protection. They are also taking full
advantage of their employee benefts.

Making voluntary insurance policies
available can allow companies to en-
hance their benefts offerings, differ-
entiate themselves from competitors,
and offer workers choices in additional
coverage that best suits their needs.
These types of supplemental insurance
policies and ancillary benefts offerings
will be a greater differentiator than
ever before in the battle to attract and
protect a talented workforce.
